So, how was your trip? Thanks for asking....
Well there were some simple pleasures. Like the weather being sunny and nice, EVERY day. The fact that my hotel room had a big bathtub and I took a big bubbly bath EVERY day. (I lack a tub in my house). Reading three very good books. "I Capture the Castle", "Peace Like A River", and "THe Confessions of Max Tivoli". Good stuff.
Overall, San Fransisco for a week in May is like my idea of heaven.
My friend, who I have sometimes referred to as WestCoast, was a super guide. She gave us so much of her time. She made me a gorgeous bracelet, took us to tapas, drove us to Napa, and to an Art Museum. She and I hung out, chatted, laughed. She's so fun, smart, and down to earth. For all of you who do not know her, I feel a little sorry for you. Oh yeah, and her husband is damn nice too!
Fiance's friends came out one night and took us to a yummy dinner at House of Prime Rib. Since they are ex-football players, I shoudl have expected something generous and meaty, but even I was surprised. It was really good though, and we had a great time!
We spent a few nights in a touristy Irish pub, watching nutty Europeans get their funk on. Both in scent and in groove.
I could have done without the conference. Depressing Sexual Assault stuff. And the drunk that accompanied me. UGH! And my wedding budget took a hit with me spending a ton of cash.. but whatever. i could have done without soem creep trying to hit on me. "You're really nice. Would it be cheating if we just cuddled?" I swear, and I know I talk a lot of shit, but I SWEAR, I wanted to puke right down his throat. As if, even if he wasn't a washed up chubster, I'd invite him to my room, throw on a nightie, and cuddle. This is what a girl gets for trying to be friendly to a sad old man. Anyhoo-- that's not San Francisco's fault, he was a tourist.
