So this is how the other half lives....

I'm trapped in my house! Sick and sickening. I am one of those people who, despite all the medical evidence to the contrary, does not ever believe that a flu-shot will benefit me. So here I am....trapped at home and miserable.
It's not even like playing hooky, where you can bake, or dork around your place by yourself...I'm like laid-out. It took all I had today to take a shower and make hot chocolate (from a packet!). I was home all day yesterday too though, even though I wasn't as sick as today. I drove to the local Walgreens for some cough syrup and the like, and stopped off for a milkshake (which for some reason seemed to have done more for me than any of the over-the-counters I bought). But whenever I am not at work on a workday, and driving around in the middle of the day, I notice all these people....not working.
I know there are a multitude of reasons why...(work non-traditional hours, disabilities, simply out of work, or their spouse is the income), but what amazes me after being trapped for a couple of days is what do these people do? Most of them are not rolling in the dough, or on the whole GYM-SALON-LUNCH-CHARITY work circuit. So I have to assume these are the daytime tv'ers. The victims of phone scams and the garage-salers of the world. Don't get me wrong, I am all about lounging around for a few days, if my head isn't pounding and I'm not hacking up a lung every 30 seconds... and I get sick of work too... but everyday?!
They must be a large portion of the Prozac market. Watching soaps and building miniscule events into major dramas just for something to do. (my family has this down to a science).
