All the KnowsItAll spaces

Buying a house has been so much more stressful than I expected. We've lost sleep, fought a lot more, and have eaten a lot of Advil. The selection process was tough enough. Then I fell in love, and we decided to buy this one. But there has been so much unknown. Asbestos testing? I had no idea that it was not a given. well, let me say that first I only knew it was still a risk when Indiana almost bought a house last year, only to find out the thing was dripping in asbestos. So it was a question we've had the whole time. But when we had the inspection done, we assumed we'd know. But apparently you have to have a separate test. To the tune of $550 more bucks. I guess some people just opt not to have it. I cannot imagine living in a home that has a very good possibility of having asbestos and not really knowing. No can do. We'll find out today.

Financing is another debacle. It's fine, it's just kind of time-consuming and the options are all so briefly described. being lawyers, we tend to kind of want to know what everything means. We are probably the most annoying home buyers ever.

On top of all that, a lot of complications in the world of work. However, I am taking some advice from some friends and no longer writing anything on here about work. It's sad, cuz this is my venue...but things could be taken the wrong way. I even changed my super cool MYSPACE account to private. I knew it was possible for the entire world to read it, but admittedly it does have "less than professional" elements so I don't need any of my sworn enemies using it against me. So readers, if you want access...make a MYSPACE account. Use a fake name and no photo or anything is needed. It's just a log in. And then I'll be your friend. :) Fair warning, this is how I got started, and then i got suckered in.

I'm excited to make some progress on the house. Hopefully things will shake out this week and we will know for sure if the thing is going to happen by next week. I think the appraisal will be by end of week. Thank god for Heidi. It seems like being a realtor is a lot of work. And in the middle of all this, she traveled to DC and NYC to lobby for Zoie's law.

Next Thursday, I am off to San Diego for a Bachelorette weekend. A day of sailing included. It should be a good time. I'm excited to leave the world of work, and house stress and just get my chill on in San Diego. We have some weddings coming up this fall, and the move, so the next thing we'll know Christmas will be here. We are going to PTown this year and already booked at a super cool hotel. So I'm feeling good about it all. THe summer blues are almost done!

I have to think more about where I can vent and process my "issues". This blog has been an outlet for some time, but I feel so guarded here now. Yet, I'm not looking for an entirely private journal, cuz my co-dependence thrives off your opinions and thoughts. We'll see.

Have a good weekend all! Go DUCKS!

Oh..Please..you know how many times I have been fired because of my blogging?

Oh sorry bad example. Just cuz I keep gettin fired and you don't want to risk gettin fired it means I can't find out about all the drunken episodes you could have posted..

Maybe next time I will post after a cowboys victory. I am incoherent. It's from the loss of testosterone that accompinies watching your fave team lose.

Don't Worry DUde! THere's other venues. I have a blog on MySPACE which has limited access and I can do what I want over there.

Yet, getting fired does sounds appealing!

And I'm only keeping WORK issues off here... Drunken debauchery stays right here my friend.

Buena suerte con the house buying process. Good vibes on you, my sister.

As for the no-work talk, don't sweat it. You need an outlet for that stress and you will find one that does not damage your liver severely. All will work out as it is intended to.

Also, Dooce (www.dooce.com) got fired for blogging and became a verb because of it. And makes a living doing it now. Dig it.
